Latest Studio update
Latest studio update. Hope you’re staying safe and well. My alterations to the studio have been coming along very nicely. I’m up and running again, now. I’ve installed most of the vinyl floor, so it looks quite nice. I’ve just got to do one or two other areas. It was very challenging to match the pattern, so there’s some tweaking needed, here and there. I won’t rush it, though.
Replaced carpet and velvet fabrics for vinyl flooring
The vinyl looks rather lovely, as you can see in the updated picture below. It’s easy to keep clean and sanitised, making it as safe as possible after the advent of the COVID outbreak. It’s given the studio a lovely, fresh new look. I reupholstered the ottomans, and the vibrant red fabric compliments the floor rather nicely, adding to the plush appearance to the room.
Any matt paint on the walls has now been cleaned, and overpainted with a vinyl silk finish, making it wipe clean, and if necessary, easy to sanitise.
Non-contact Infrared Thermometer
I’ve got hold of a Thermo Scan. A Thermo Scan is basically a non- contact infrared thermometer, so I can use it to check the temperature of your forehead when you arrive. It’s particularly accurate, and has 3 temperature range indications. It’s green, when the temperature is normal, amber if someone might be running a slight fever, and red if you might have a high fever. This will be used for everyone’s safety. It looks like this:
It has a range of temperature settings, based on what it finds when it scans your forehead.
I have also got hold of some face masks. There are probably those of you who might be concerned enough to want to wear them. With the amount of research I’ve been doing about face masks, there appears to be no conclusive clinical evidence to suggest that face masks are effective at preventing a wearer contracting the virus. It does, however, suggest, that wearing them, if infected, might be able to prevent its spreading. So I guess it’s going to have to be played by ear.
My best advice, like everyone else’s, is that, if you feel unwell, don’t go out. If you should have symptoms, then be responsible and self-isolate. Touch wood, I haven’t shown any symptoms of it, nor contracted it. For that, I’m extremely grateful. Because I have COPD ( chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, particularly, asthma), I do need to be rather careful, and take every precaution I can.
I’m a very keen liker of baking, and have been knocking up some fabulous home-made chocolate cupcakes.
Partly as a way of celebrating being up and running again, partly because I’ve got a very sweet tooth, and because I know you guys love nothing better than a chocolate cupcake, before, during, or after a massage. A beautiful, rich, intense chocolate punch. Had to make it extra special. 😉 I shot a very short video, below. it looks a bit weird but is delicious. 🙂
